Photovoice Ottawa Valley 2021 (link coming soon)
Focus of this PhotoVoice Project:   “Glimpses of Tomorrow”

What is PhotoVoice?  A method where group participants use pictures to focus their experiences and thoughts about an issue that is overlooked and in need of awareness in the whole community. Working together, the group’s visual statements become a powerful communication tool for advocating change.
Core Belief:  That people of the community itself, not outside experts, are in the best position to understand the strengths and limitations of their own community to undertake such social change.
Curated photos will be mounted in a fall 2021 art exhibition.

12 youth in the Pembroke area 12–16 years old at the time of the application will be selected to participate, along with 12 seniors who are 65 or older at the time of the application.

Money is not a barrier to participation in any of our programs. We offer partial (25%, 50%) and full scholarships with the generosity of community champion partners, subject to availability.
